Teacher: Mary Getfield:
My name is Mary Getfield and I am a teacher for the three-year old program at St. Peter's Nursery Preschool since 2014. I currently hold a Bachelor's degree in Communications from Cortland State College as well as a Master's degree in Elementary Education from Dowling College. After teaching in the Harborfields and Lindenhurst School Districts, I stayed home to raise my two children. When my own were of school age, I soon realized that being in the classroom was my true passion and where I wanted to be. I am inspired by their constant eagerness to learn new things and continue to grow and thrive in the environment provided for them at St.Peter's. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to teach these amazing children and be part of such a wonderful program and staff.
Assistant: Vanessa Sesterak
Hello. My name is Vanessa Sesterak. This coming school year I will lead the three year old class on Tuesday and Thursday, as well as assist in the three year old class on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I hold a bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Education. I have been in the education field (preschool-grade 6) for the last 15 years and have worked with children of all ages. I first became familiar with St. Peter's when my nephew was in Pre-K in 2010. I knew immediately that I wanted my son to attend St. Peter's. He has been here since Mommy and Me and I couldn't be more pleased with how far he has come. (He graduated in 2015.) I was delighted to begin as a substitute teacher and was given the opportunity to lead the Mommy and Me class. I enjoyed it so much. I am so happy to become part of the Saint Peter's family.
