Art Enrichment finished their first art showcase piece today. It is based on the story “I ain’t gonna paint no more!”. This project was done over 2 classes. Today, the students put their finishing touches on their masterpiece by adding their painted handprints. Their artwork will be hung in the main corridor for all to see. Please come check out our fantastic little artists work. Each session of Art Enrichment we will have one showcase displayed. Reminder: We have one more class of session 1.

Art Enrichment 🎨🖌️ - We read “I Ain’t Gonna Paint No More.” Our art project is going to be done in multiple steps. Today, we completed step one which was painting our backgrounds. Steps two and three will be completed in the next classes. Just a reminder - There is no class next week and we have two classes left for session one. Session 2 begins on 12/17. Today in Spanish Enrichment, we learned the color “GRIS”. Then we went out on the playground to soak in some sun and have a little fun. When we returned to class, we reviewed all the colors we learned so far in Spanish. Adios! 🩶

Music Enrichment - Our class learned 10 Little Pilgrims today. The students had so much fun singing their new song and playing the drum.

Thankful Thursday - Another day of Kindness - Our TTH classes showed their school spirit today by wearing YELLOW for World Kindness Day. Thank you for your participation! 💛

Wednesday’s Enrichment class is ASL. The class learned how to sign “hot” and “cold”. 🤟🏻

Art Enrichment - Special Halloween Art - We made ghosts using white paint in a squeeze bottle and spreading the paint with a squeegee to create ghosts. To complete their project, the children added googly eyes and a mouth. There is no class next week because school is closed. Happy Halloween! 🎃

Art Enrichment - We read the book “Blue Chicken”. Then the teacher traced each of the children’s hands to create chickens. Finally, the children used a dropper to paint their picture of the chicken spreading and splashing blue paint. It was a great lesson using fine motor skills and learning that you can use other items to paint with.

We will be closed today, October 14, 2024 in observance of the Columbus Day holiday. We will reopen tomorrow.

Art Enrichment 🎨🖌️🐭- We read the picture book Mouse Paint. It is a story of three white mice that discover three jars of paint—red, blue, and yellow. They dance and splash into the paint creating new colors. Our little artists recreated the story using cotton balls as the mice moving through the different paint colors to create new colors - purple, green and orange. They had a blast with color mixing. Next week will be a new picture book and painting technique.
